Qs and As, Part 2

Megan from Local at Last, a fellow Army wife who just happens to be moving to Chambana very soon (!), tagged me in a Q and A post, similar to the one I filled out a little while ago. It's a whole new set of questions, though, and I'm ready!

Here were Megan's questions for me:

1. In a perfect world, what does your life look like? Kids, house, travel, job, etc.?

Oh, what a question! I would probably be a stay at home mom to 3 kids (although, I'd have my masters in something to do with journalism, and freelance on the side). I'd live in an beautiful, old house (still here in Illinois), take a yearly vacation to somewhere fabulous (starting with England), and hope that my husband finally has a job that requires him to wear a suit (because that's his dream). And we'd have two large cars so I could run around town doing fun things with the kids and not be cooped up!

2. What is your fondest childhood memory?

There are so many, if I stop to think about it. One would be lying under apple trees down the road from my house one summer, reading Sense and Sensibility when I was 11 or 12.

3. Make-A-Wish style...If you were given the chance to complete one dream before you die, what would it be?

For myself? Getting that danged college degree! :) (Going to England would be second in line!)

4. What's your favorite book/author/genre to read?

I love poetry, memoirs, and biographies- either non-fiction (real) stuff, or poetry that really makes you feel.

5. What is the worst job you've ever had and what is the hardest job you've ever had?

The worst job would be when I worked at a hospital- I was a secretary, and there was one other girl at the same desk. She would get mad at anyone for any reason, and spent most of her days giving me the silent treatment- hard when you have to communicate to work! I would say that would be the hardest as well.

6. What's your favorite form of exercise?

None? I'm horrible about exercising, so I like things such as swimming, ice skating, or taking a walk after dinner- they don't feel so much like exercise to me.

7. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?

I would love to have a vow renewal with Sky someday, and have it be bigger and swankier than our wedding was. He promised me in 20 years we'll do something, so we'll see! I have a Pinterest board all ready to go for ideas.

8. What would you name the autobiography of your life?

I can't answer that one, because my story isn't written yet. I have so much more to do first.

9. I just handed you $10,000 cash. You must spend/invest/donate it today. What are you going to do with it?

I would cry tears of joy! I would use it to pay off all our debt, which would be such an amazing, freeing feeling. I'd use the rest to spoil my family with things they would want but couldn't afford, and use the last little bit to buy the fancy Kitchen Aid mixer Sky and I always dream about.

10. What is the one drink that is guaranteed to get you drunk. Every. Single. Time?

Wow, I don't know! I rarely drink anymore. Back in the day, my drink of choice was a Woodchuck cider.

11. How do you sleep at night - curled up, on your stomach, on your back, one leg hanging off the bed?

On my stomach, or slightly curled up with some pillows/Sky. I love winter because heavy blankets are my favorite.

Thanks for the tag, Megan!

Fun questions! My husband's dream job would include wearing a suit too, thought some days I wonder if that suit would be a regular one or a camo one (full-time versus just for drill weekends, etc.). Either would be good with me!

I worked as a hospital secretary once too - worst job I've ever had! And I love that you guys want to do a vow renewal...how romantic :)

Those are fun questions. And I highly recommend Kitchen Aid Mixers, I have a middle of the road one (not super fancy but not the standard one) and it's hands down one of the best purchases I've ever made :)

Your perfect world is the exact same as mine! Kids, old house, freelance writing, England...please! And yes! yes! yes! on the nonfiction. Hands down my favorite genre to read.

I know you want your college degree, and that's awesome, but I have to tell you that you are a FAR better writer than my fellow English majors were. I'm not even joking. You will go far without or without your degree :)
