The Birthday That Was

After all the birthday wishes and questions as to what I did that day, I figured the best thing to do is a little show and tell. Since Sky worked that day, most of it was spent with just Millie, but we had a grand time, even if it was quiet.

I wore a sweater for the first time this season, and loved it. Almost everything thrifted, of course- $2.50 for the Ann Taylor rabbit hair cardigan, $2.50 for the Express thick tee underneath, and Charlotte Russe jeans (I think?).

Photobucket

The only style I've wanted to do lately is a high bun. Not too high...so this is my compromise.

Photobucket

And my birthday present to myself...short boots on sale from Target.

Photobucket

This was my accomplice for the day. She was much happier than she looked here!

Photobucket

We were ready to set out on an adventure.

Photobucket

The day was absolutely beautiful.

It's soothing driving near golden fields like this.

First stop of the day: my favorite store in town!

Photobucket

A quick lunch on the way home. Beef and cheddar, baby.

Then Millie and I decided it was a good day for making snickerdoodle bread. So we did.

My favorite part might be the cinnamon smell permeating our house as it bakes.

Photobucket

We waited outside for Daddy to come home.

And went to Atlanta Bread Co. for one of my favorites- broccoli cheese soup in a sourdough bread bowl.

And at the end of the evening, we stopped by a little slice of Heaven you may know as Target.

And that, my dears, was my birthday.

Love your show and tell. This sounds like the perfect birthday! You have a very beautiful little girl who helped you celebrate. She seems to be growing up so fast! (oh and your boots purchase totally makes me want to go buy boots now. thanks for that. lol)

You look great! I can't wait until we live in a town where there's a Goodwill/Salvation Army worth frequenting. That's how I shopped in college and I really found a lot of good stuff. Slim pickins here though! My husband was walking by as I was reading and he saw Millie's name. He loves it. I promise we won't try to steal it, though ;)

Yay for fun birthdays! I love your hair; I wish I could do brave things like that, but I think half up half down is about as brave as I get. Oh man, and all I can think about is that bread bowl!

Birthdays spent with daughters are the best! Your outfit is way too cute. I'm certain that if we lived close to one another, we would have the most amazing thrifting adventures!
