You're not here now. The Army has you doing other things, things they say are more important.

But just remember, if only before your eyes close tonight-

You were fastening the shiny buttons on your uniform. I was sipping some Starbucks and adjusting my birdcage veil. We were nervous during the vows and unsure of how to cut the cake. But everyone went home, and it was just us. The clock starting ticking.

And now it's circled 'round and 'round until 3 years have passed since that morning in January. You're there and I'm here, but we're still together. That's all that really matters, isn't it?
