Stories

"The thing about a story is that you dream it as you tell it,
hoping that others might then dream along with you [...]"

Walter woke up this morning full of stories.

He looked at me earnestly, and waved his arms with balled up fists, imploring me to hang on his every word. Both in his deep blue eyes and his soft coos and little babbles, he confided to me his small secrets and big tales, telling both with wide-eyed wonder, forming his mouth into a tiny O.

And all I heard was how lucky I was.

Lucky that those moments are mine forever.
Lucky to hear his stories, ones that I'll remember long after he's forgotten.

So sweet. I love hearing everything my kid has to say to me, even if I don't understand any of it.
