Love Like That

"If music be the food of love, play on,
Give me excess of it"

The latest viral video hit is the self-proclaimed "Greatest Marriage Proposal EVER". I saw it a week ago, and while I was annoyed that the girl talked to her brother through a good portion of her amazing proposal, it was still incredibly sweet. It was a little larger than life, really.

I'm subscribed to a magazine (it shall remain nameless, because I would not have normally subscribed to it, but it came free when I got my Bobby nursing pillow- does that clue you in?) that actually had an article which really had an impact on me. The climax was this quote: "Women don't just want to be desired. We want to be uniquely desired."

Wow.

I think that's why I want this second proposal so badly. It will honestly be more important to me than the first, since that was a little after the fact anyway. I could have slipped that ring onto my finger that night at the store, but I crave that romance. It's the same reason that so many girls are swooning over this video- they want something grand and wonderful and personal- just for them. And though many guys wouldn't be able to come up with that kind of production, all girls deserve the spirit in which it was given- that we are the only person for the guy who says he loves us. That we were meant to be together.

That we are uniquely desired. After all, isn't that what marriage is?

words fail to tell you how much i love this post. i wish i could say more, but nothing will do. you simply put into words the deep desires of a woman's heart--so achingly beautiful.

i hope when you finally do get the ring that the moment holds more romance than you could ever possible imagine. you deserve it.

p.s. have you read the book captivating by staci eldredge? it talks about this exact thing and it forever changed my life. i highly recommend it.

Mr. H and I actually talked about that very same topic (along with how facebook messages from past girlfriends affect marriages). I can't wait to tell him what you wrote! It is so beautifully written :)

I hope what Sky is planning is so unique and wonderful to you. You deserve every little bit of it. I pray for the very best!!!!
