After 2 television interviews, emails back and forth with a Major, Family Assistance Centers, and various contacts, phone calls with so many people I've long ago lost count, several applications for assistance scanned and faxed, and all the kindness of all of you- Sky's check finally came in from the Guard today. While I'm relieved beyond what I can tell you, I also hope it means everyone else will be paid too- my brother is in the same unit and did not get a check today, so I hope he will get it in the next day or two.
It's probably not the most exciting post you've ever read on this blog, but I wanted to let everyone know. I know I'm glad to let this go. It's been making me angry during the day and left me sleepless at night. I'm one of those people who feels stress physically, and the stomach aches this week have not been so hot!
Thank you again, every one of you, for your friendship. It's invaluable.
I'm going to bed tonight with some peace. It will feel so good to exhale.

I'm glad ya'll finally got paid. I know what you mean about stressing/sleepless nights. I was worried we wouldn't be getting paid recently either, but my husband was one of the lucky ones. Hope it continues to come without you having to go to all that trouble.
