November Blue & Millie's Accomplishment

Every time someone says that they're a fan of The Avett Brothers, I want to hug them for good taste in music. Their music is simple but not boring, and often rowdy without being annoying. I think there isn't a style of music I can't listen to (okay...maybe not screamo?), but if I had to pick one kind for the rest of my life, it'd probably be folksy songs like this.

This is one of their much earlier songs, but after Millie was swaying to it this morning, I knew it would be my song choice to link up with Goodnight Moon. If Millie approves it, it's gotta be good, right?

November Blue by The Avett Brothers
If I weren't leavin', would I catch you dreamin'
And if I weren't gonna be gone now, could I take you home
And if I told you I love you, would it change what you see
And if I was staying, would you stay with me

And if I had money, would it all look good
And if I had a job now, like a good man should
And if I came to you tomorrow, and said let's run away
Would you roll like the wind does, baby would you stay

My heart is dancin', to a November tune
And I hope that you hear it, singing songs about you
And I sing songs of sorrow, because you're not around
See, babe I'm gone tomorrow, Baby follow me down

I don't know why I have to, but this man must move on
I love my time here, didn't know 'til I was gone
November shadows, shade November change
November spells sweet memory, the season blue remains

Your yellow hair is like the sunlight, however sweet it shines
Bit by the cold of December, I'm warm beside your smile

Oh lady tell me I'm not leaving, you're everything I dream
I'm killing myself thinking, I've fallen like the leaves
I'm killing myself thinking, I've fallen like the leaves

And one more thing- because it's my blog, and I can publish disjointed posts that don't go together at all. (Although, if you're a Facebook fan, you knew this already.) This afternoon, while we were all hanging out in the living room, Millie pulled up to her knees, and then to her feet. She stood for about a minute before tumbling down and squealing with laughter. I happened to have the camera next to me when it happened, so here's the picture that makes me proud!

So I may be behind the times (not unusual) but I just heard of this band a couple of months ago and instantly fell in love with them when I saw them on Palladia (probably misspelled that but am too lazy to look up the correct spelling). Anywho...yay for the Avett Brothers AND Millie!!!!!!
