Bump In the Night

A couple nights ago, I thought I had met my death. I'm pretty sure my life flashed before my eyes.

The house was still, but for the clock ticking in the kitchen. The lights were out and the door was locked. I floated in that soft place between waking and dreams, tangled up in a pile of blankets. Sky snored gently beside me.

Suddenly, two hands reached out towards me, shoving and clawing at me. I screamed, fell off the bed, and screamed again. (Apologies to the neighbor upstairs.) I looked around the room, trying to wake myself enough to figure out what had just happened. Sky peered down from the bed and asked, "Are you okay?" "NO!" I shouted, feeling hurt and crawling back under the covers. "You pushed me off the bed!" He patted me on the head and said, "You didn't have to scream."

The next morning, I woke up simultaneously laughing and glaring at my attacker. He said he didn't remember a single thing- and the boy is a really weird sleeper, so I believed him. But as he laughed as I recounted the story, all I could think was that I'd never feel 100% safe falling sleep next to my husband again. You never know when a scary sneak attack will occur.

Have you had a near death experience like mine?

I haven't, but I'm the guilty sleep walker/talker in the family. That does sound very scary; now I know how OccDoc feels when I start screaming in my sleep or when I hit him when I'm sleeping. Oops.

I was soundly asleep earlier this week when I feel the outmost pain in my jaw caused by someone's elbow. The rest of the arm continued to rest on my face and as I tried to push it off mid-sleep, Lance says "What the hell are you doing?". I just looked at him and said "Dude, you just elbow punched me in the F***ing face!" - I was not thrilled at 230 am, however I'm still teasing him making him feel bad ahaha

Lol I haven't experienced a sneak attack, but my MIL woke up to being punched in the back of the head the other night. I guess my FIL was dreaming about someone trying to steal his flying car and he had to "beat the shit out of him"

since i'm single (perpetually) nobody has every punched of shoved me off the bed but I have fallen asleep on my arm and it also falls asleep and then some how in rolling over I've lost control of the asleep limb and hit myself with it. Because when your limb is asleep you can't feel it it feels like someone else hit you! I nearly messed my pants!

ohh man...sorry. that made me laugh.

a few nights ago, what with renovating the bedroom i share with my younger sis rach, she slept with my in my bed...and that was the LAST time i ever do that; her limbs are freaking heavy when she sleeps, and she had one of her arms or legs constantly draped over me...and i constantly shoved it back.
oy.
i did NOT sleep good that night.
i was half glare, half laugh the next day, telling her she's never sleeping in the same bed as me--ever!

I'm usually the one hurting my husband during the night. He had me stop wearing watches and jewelry to bed because of that!

Haha, Justin has almost pushed me out of the bed before, usually though when he would get back from a deployment for a few weeks or so he wouldn't realize he was home and would try to punch me in the back just jab me and yell things...yeah not fun.
That is pretty funny though! :)
