Tiny

Once in a while,
someone very close to you, someone you love very much, will say words that hurt.
They might not even mean to, but it still ends up that way.

It's the kind of thing that takes the wind out of your sails,
and you play it in your mind over and over again.
You wonder how a single sentence can burrow in your heart so deeply- how such a tiny thing can be so big.

Someone did just that this week. Something about my college classes and all the woes I've had leading up to them. I can't pretend I didn't cry.

And then, that someone can drop off a couple new notebooks, just waiting for all my biology note-taking,
and a card with sweet, scrawled apology.
That's the moment when you understand exactly how tiny things can be big,
and how beautiful that can be.

Awww- little things can be HUGE! I'm so glad they recognized the hurt they caused you and attempted to make things right. What a sweet gesture.

I'm so sorry someone hurt you. That's never fun. But you're going back to school and THAT is what matters :)
